I create because I am compelled to…
…it drives the passions of my life, because I enjoy the process, and because I love the results. Nothing scratches an itch like making something that is both useful and inspirational.
I’ve been in the graphic design world for 15 years
12 years since graduating with my BFA in Graphic Design from the U of M Duluth and taking up real clients.
11 since pivoting to design full time.
9 since I first started working with government and energy-sector clients.
7 since pivoting to full-time work on web design specifically.
6 years of training in User Experience design with LinkedIn Learning and the International Design Foundation.
5 years of using those skills to better the research I do for my clients and better inform the decisions we make for their websites going forward.
But creation doesn’t have to stop when I clock out. How I recharge, what I do with that time, matters to me.
I connect with my family and friends, I explore the wonders of nature, and I create within my fictional world - Line Jacks. The first 2 things let me create with sketching and photography while the latter lets me create with writing, illustration, and running Dungeons and Dragons games. My mind stays in a creative space while I rest and reset from full days of client designs.
