Scheduling

  • I will poll the group to find out what are commonly good days to schedule sessions; If everyone in the group can typically make either Tuesday nights or Sunday Mornings work, for example, then I will try to schedule sessions at those times.

  • I will announce on Discord in the session-planning channel what day and time a session is going to be revealed as well as what its general theme is.

  • When the session is revealed, players can sign up for a slot.

  • Sessions will each have a limited number of slots.

  • If a session is full when you signup, it will put you on a waitlist, which means you may be able to still join that session if someone else drops out.

  • If you are on a session waitlist and do not get to play that session, I will give you priority on a signup for a future session, so that we don’t have just a handful of players doing every session and a handful of others that always sit out.

General Text Chats

  • This is where we discuss anything campaign related that isn’t covered in any other channel. The “general” chat related to Line Jacks.

  • This is for anything you want to share here that isn’t related to Line Jacks, from jokes to memes to how your day was. Whatever you like, go for it!

Campaign chats can get serious at times, so I want his space to feel casual and friendly.

Book Keeping Text Chats

  • Where I will be announcing session dates and details. There will be a widget called Sesh-bot that will let you sign up for sessions or be added to a waitlist. I’m hoping to have multiple sessions planned in advance at a time.

  • Where I will post maps, handouts, imagery, etc. that you might use in the next session.

  • Where your character can purchase standard items, like weapons, armor, arcane components, torches, ball bearings, playing cards, etc.

Just type the interaction into the chat so that we have a log of it, and so that we aren’t spending session-time doing shopping.

If it isn’t a wonderous item, your character can purchase it here and deduct the cost from their funds. If you want to sell something, you will get half the cost of the item back.

If you want to haggle, you’ll have to roleplay it with the shopkeep ;)

  • A cool part of DnD is imagining what your character is doing when their not in-session and on an adventure. This is a good opportunity for characters who have certain abilities that take time, like brewing health potions (which takes a day and 25 gold), if you have the materials and ability.

It also can just be fun to say “While waiting for the next mission, my character gets to know the local villagers really well” or “works on learning the Orcish language,” which over time could grant you certain benefits.

  • Each adventure will reward those players with loot, which could be money, valuable items, usable items like caltrops or a bomb, or perhaps even wondrous magical items.

When a Line Jack finds a magic item, they are free to use them for the remainder of that session. Afterwards, they become property of the Line Jacks, and will go up for auction.

Every Line Jack can bid on an item in an auction until the auction window is closed, assuming they have enough money to back their bid.

In Character Text Chats

  • This is where you can roleplay with other Line Jacks when you’re not in a session. Maybe your characters have a beef and need to sort it out, or maybe they’re collaborating on a project to build something or go somewhere.

While you’re in this text thread, you are to act and write as though you are your character. You can, of course, still narrate your actions Out of Character (OoC), but othewise keep it IC (in character).

Voice Channels

  • The general voice chat channel. This is Out of Character (OoC), so feel free to speak however you like here.

  • If we need to ever run some sessions online, like for a Session Zero interaction, or a more intense downtime activity, we can use this channel. This is In Character (IC) so it’s where we roleplay. You should speak as if you are your character. Accents and emotion are encouraged and sometimes rewarded!
